Emma Stone Channels a 1920s Flapper Girl For the Met Gala 2022

Emma Stone channeled an early-1900s It girl for the Met Gala.

The Academy Award winner embraced the fun side of American history for the party's Gilded Glamour theme, wearing a white knee-length flapper-style dress by Louis Vuitton that held a special meaning for the star. The piece, which she also wore to her wedding after-party, featured sheer sleeves, a deep-V neckline, satin-covered buttons on the sides of the bodice, and floaty fringe along the hem.

She finished the look with minimal jewelry and white block heels decorated with jewels at the ankles, and she wore her hair styled in a ballerina bun with more adorning jewelry.

The La La Land actor has been a long time Met Gala attendee, making her last appearance in 2018. Tonight is her first major red carpet since she attended the Cruella premiere last year, just months since welcoming her first child with her husband, Saturday Night Live writer David McCary.

The gala may include a reunion for the star, as her ex-boyfriend and The Amazing Spider-Man costar Andrew Garfield is also attending. Though they broke up in 2015, after attending the Met together in 2014, they have stayed in touch, with Garfield mentioning in an interview that she hit him up for Spider-Man: No Way Home spoilers last year.

"Emma kept on texting me. She was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?'" the tick, tick… BOOM! actor said during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. "And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'"

He continued, "She was like, 'Shut up. Just tell me.' I'm like, 'I honestly don't know—'I kept it going even with her. It's hilarious."

When asked if he ever admitted to his cameo in the film, Garfield said, "No. And then she saw it and she was like, 'You're a jerk.'"
